Happy new year to one and all and welcome back after the Christmas break. We hope it was an enjoyable one and everyone is back and looking forward to kicking off the second half of the season.

Our Seconds, Ladies and Thirds have already been back in action last weekend and all recorded impressive wins. Our underage is also back on the swing of things with out U14 Black and Blues both winning their matches and pushing on to the knock out stages of their leagues.

Our 20s are back to work this weekend along with out Ladies and our Firsts resume league action next weekend with an away trip to UCD to kick off the 2019 leg of the league. We will be running a supporters bus for this match so please get back to me ASAP if you would like to travel. The busses have been a big success this season so lets keep the show on the road. Contact me by return email or on 087-9397431 if you would like to travel.

Over the break you might have heard that one of our Senior players has departed to play professional rugby in New York. While we will definitely miss Will Leonard around the club we are delighted to see this opportunity open up for him and will keep you posted on his progress over the year. I caught up with Will before he left, click here to read about his transfer and what America has in store for him.

The Mentality Podcast

Senior player Ty Chan has recently launched a podcast focusing on mental health and addressing issues surrounding normalising the discussion. Read below as Ty describes his podcast and its aims etc. He has also included information on where you can find it. It’s great to see one of our players opening the important discussion surrounding mental health and we wish Ty all the best.

Hi everyone, I recently launched The Mentality Podcast which is a Mental Health Podcast aiming to normalise discussion and promote a healthy lifestyle.

The statistics show that 1 in 4 people are effected by mental health but in reality everyone is in one way or another.

The Mentality Podcast gives people a platform to talk openly about their mental health, encouraging listeners to follow suit. Topics range from sport, exercise and diet, to self awareness and coping with the everyday stresses of life.

If you would like to find out more information and join the community please visit The Mentality Podcast Facebook or Instagram page or email at thementalitypodcast@gmail.com. If you would like to listen it is available on Itunes/Spotify and the Podbean app.

Thank you for the continued support. Mind Yourself.

– Ty Chan”
